(EN) An absorbent article with an adhesive flap. The absorbent article has a crotch region, a rear waist region, and a body facing surface positionable adjacent a wearer when the article is in use. The absorbent article includes a backsheet, a liquid permeable topsheet attached to the backsheet, an absorbent structure disposed between said topsheet and said backsheet, and a flap positioned in the rear waist region of the article. The flap has first and second oppositely facing major surfaces wherein the first major surface faces the topsheet and the second major surface forms a portion of the body facing surface of the absorbent article. A substantial portion of the front edge of the flap is a free edge and an adhesive is disposed on the body facing major surface of the flap whereby the adhesive may engage the skin of the wearer when the absorbent article is in use. The adhesive flap thereby prevents the formation of a gap between the absorbent article and the wearer's skin near the rear waist region and, thus, inhibits the leakage of bodily exudates from the absorbent article.
(FR) L'article absorbant à rabat adhésif de la présente invention définit une zone fourche, une zone ceinture postérieure, et une surface contre corps se plaçant contre l'utilisateur. L'article absorbant comporte également une feuille de fond, une couche supérieure perméable aux liquides solidaire de la feuille de fond, une structure absorbante entre la couche supérieure et la feuille de fond, et un rabat situé dans la zone ceinture postérieure de l'article. Le rabat présente deux faces principales en recto-verso. La première face principale est tournée vers la couche supérieure. La seconde face principale est d'un seul tenant avec la face contre corps de l'article absorbant. Une partie importante du bord antérieur du rabat est un bord libre. Un adhésif est disposé sur la face principale contre corps du rabat, ce qui fait que l'adhésif peut venir au contact de la peau de l'utilisateur. Le rabat adhésif est ainsi capable d'empêcher la formation d'un interstice entre l'article absorbant et la peau de l'utilisateur au voisinage de la zone de ceinture, ce qui empêche les exsudats anatomiques de fuir de l'article absorbant.
