Abstract
(EN)
A device (10) that measures the distance traveled, speed, and height jumped of a person while running or walking. Accelerometers and rotational sensors are placed in the sole of one shoe along with an electronic circuit that performs mathematical calculations to determine the distance and height of each step. A radio frequency transmitter (12) sends the distance and height information to a wristwatch or other central receiving unit. A radio frequency receiver (14) in the wristwatch or other unit is coupled to a microprocessor that calculates an output speed based upon step-distance and elapsed time, and the distance traveled of the runner from the sum of all previous step distances. The output of the microprocessor is coupled to a display (18) that shows the distance traveled, speed, or height jumped of the runner or walker.

L'invention concerne un dispositif (10) mesurant la distance parcourue, la vitesse et l'amplitude de saut d'une personne en train de courir ou de marcher. Des accéléromètres et des capteurs de rotation sont placés dans la semelle d'une chaussure et reliés à un circuit électronique effectuant des calculs mathématiques pour déterminer la distance et l'amplitude de chaque pas. Un émetteur (12) radiofréquence envoie les informations concernant la distance et l'amplitude à une montre-bracelet ou toute autre élément central de réception. Un récepteur radiofréquence placé dans la montre-bracelet ou un autre élément est connecté à un microprocesseur qui calcule une vitesse de sortie à partir de la longueur du pas et du temps écoulé ainsi que la distance parcourue par le coureur à partir de la somme de la longueur de chaque pas. La sortie du microprocesseur est connectée à un écran (18) qui indique la distance parcourue, la vitesse ou l'amplitude de saut d'un coureur ou d'un marcheur.
