Ein Schutzschalter zur Absicherung von Stromkreisen, insbesondere in Kraftfahrzeugen, enthält ein flaches Isolierstoffgehäuse mit zwei nebeneinander liegenden Flachsteckern. Zur gemeinsamen Kontaktierung der Flachstecker dient ein als Sprungwerk ausgebildetes, an einem Flachstecker fixiertes Bimetall, welches mit seinem Kontaktende in eine kontaktierende Überdeckungsstellung mit dem Gegenkontakt auskragt. Weiter ist ein bei überstrombedingter Kontaktöffnung selbsttätig durch Federdruck in den Zwischenraum zwischen den geöffneten Kontakten hineinfahrender Trennschieber vorhanden, der durch gegen den Federdruck wirksame Beaufschlagung von aussen aus seiner Kontakttrennstellung rückführbar ist. Aus dem Schaltergehäuse steht ein das Kontaktende des Bimetalls aus seiner Kontaktstellung in seine Kontaktöffnungsstellung auslenkender Handauslöser hinaus.

The invention relates to a circuit breaker protecting electric circuits especially in motor vehicles. Said circuit breaker comprises a flat housing consisting of an insulating material with two juxtaposed flat plugs. The flat plugs are contacted by means of a bimetal which is configured as a snap-action element and which is fixated on a flat plug. With its contact end said bimetal projects into a contacting overlapping section with the counter-contact. The inventive circuit breaker is also provided with a contact separator which automatically intervenes in the space between the opened contact by the action of a spring if the contacts are opened due to an excess current. Said contact separator can be returned from the contact separating position when impinged upon from the outside against the spring force. A manual release device projects from the circuit breaker housing. Said release device guides the contact end of the bimetal from the contact position to its contact opening position.

L'invention concerne un disjoncteur de protection de circuits électriques destinés notamment à des véhicules automobiles. Ce disjoncteur comprend un boîtier plat en matière isolante doté de deux connecteurs plats adjacents. Pour la mise en contact commune des connecteurs plats, on utilise un bimétal qui est conçu sous la forme d'un mécanisme à passage brusque et qui est fixé à un connecteur plat. Ce bimétal est en porte-à-faux, son extrémité de contact étant dans une position de recouvrement de mise en contact avec le contact fixe. En cas d'ouverture des contacts due à une surintensité, un séparateur de contacts s'insère automatiquement, sous l'action de la pression d'un ressort, dans l'interstice formé entre les contacts ouverts. Ce séparateur des contacts peut quitter sa position de séparation des contacts par une action de l'extérieur, agissant à l'encontre de la pression du ressort. Un déclencheur manuel émergeant du boîtier dévie l'extrémité de contact du bimétal en le faisant passer de sa position de contact à sa position d'ouverture des contacts.
