In the fields of environmental and industrial pollution control there is a need for improvements in the removal of fine particulates, especially of sizes in the sub-micron ranges, from gas streams. The disclosure relates to an apparatus (1) including a container (11) for a liquid (13) submerged in which in some embodiments, is a pipe (18c) transporting a particulate-containing gas. The pipe (18) permits passage of the gas through the liquid (13) before it exhausts from the container (11). The liquid is such as to wet the particulates, thereby retaining them in the liquid (13) while the gas passes through the liquid (13) to the exhaust.

Dans les domaines de la pollution de l'environnement et de la pollution industrielle il existe un besoin d'améliorer les méthodes d'élimination de particules fines, notamment de celles ayant une taille submicronique, depuis des courants gazeux. L'invention concerne un appareil (1) qui comprend un récipient (11) pour un liquide dans lequel est immergé, dans certains modes de réalisation, un tuyau (18c) acheminant un gaz contenant des particules. Le tuyau (18) permet le passage du gaz à travers le liquide (13); le gaz s'échappe ensuite du récipient (11). Le liquide est choisi de manière à ce qu'il puisse humecter les particules afin qu'elles soient retenues dans le liquide (13) pendant que le gaz passe à travers le liquide (13) en direction de l'échappement.
