(EN)A microwave receiving antenna system (30) is described which is used to determine an originating direction of microwave radiation. The system has a birefringement phase plate (34) which splits radiation incident on it into two components which undergo a differential phase delay as they pass through it. The amount of differential phase delay induced varies with angular position around the phase plate (34) from 0 at an angular position of 0° to $g(l) at an angular position of 360°. By determining the differential phase delay (assuming a previously existing relationship) the originating direction of the radiation can be determined.
(FR)La présente invention concerne un système d'antenne de réception de micro-ondes (30) utilisé afin de déterminer la direction d'origine d'un rayonnement micro-onde. Le système comprend une plaque de phase (34) biréfringente qui partage le rayonnement incident en deux composantes qui subissent un retard de phase différentiel lorsqu'elles la traversent. La quantité de retard de phase différentiel induit varie avec la position angulaire autour de la plaque de phase (34) de 0 à une position angulaire de 0°, à $g(l) à une position angulaire de 360°.
