Process for the preparation of copolymers of carbon monoxide, ethene and optionally up to 5 wt.% based on total weight of polymer of a C3+ olefin, in which (copolymers) the units originating from carbon monoxide and the units originating from ethene or C3+ olefin occur in a substantially alternating order, said process comprising copolymerizing carbon monoxide, ethene and optionally C3+ olefin in the presence of a suitable catalyst composition comprising a Group VIII metal, wherein the molar ratio of carbon monoxide to ethene plus C3+ olefin is at most 0.25 during copolymerization and wherein the molar ratio of C3+ olefin to ethene is in the range of from 0 to 0.8.

L'invention concerne un procédé de préparation de copolymères comprenant du monoxyde de carbone, de l'éthène et, éventuellement, jusqu'à 5 % en poids par rapport au poids total du polymère d'une oléfine C3+de polymères contenant jusqu'à 5 % poids d'oléfine C3+. Les unités issues du monoxyde de carbone et les unités issues de l'éthène ou de l'oléfine C3+ apparaissent de façon sensiblement alternée. Le procédé en question consiste à copolymériser le monoxyde de carbone, l'éthène et éventuellement l'oléfine C3+, en présence d'une composition catalytique adéquate contenant un métal du groupe VIII. Le rapport molaire monoxyde de carbone/éthène et oléfine C3+ ne dépasse pas 0,25 pendant la copolymérisation, et le rapport molaire oléfine C3+/éthène se situe entre 0 et 0,8.
