(EN)A circuit (6, 7, 8, 10, 12, 14) for controlling the run current in a ring laser gyro (2) includes circuitry for sensing temperature (4), supplying a current (16) to the ring laser gyro (2) and controlling the current supplied to the ring laser gyro (2) and the current varies depending on the temperature. The current changes at predetermined temperature points.
