(EN)The present invention relates to a method of preparing a phenotypically antibiotic-resistant subpopulation of stationary phase bacteria by treating stationary phase bacteria with high doses of antibacterial agents, the subpopulation thus identified, a process for identifying new antibacterial agents by testing against the antibiotic-resistant subpopulation, the compounds thus identified and their uses, particularly in treating bacterial infections involving dormant bacteria.
(FR)La présente invention concerne un procédé de préparation d'une sous-population, résistant aux antibiotiques sur le plan phénotypique, de bactéries en phase stationnaire, consistant à traiter ces bactéries à l'aide de doses élevées d'agents antibactériens; elle concerne également la sous-population ainsi identifiée, un procédé d'identification de nouveaux agents antibactériens consistant à essayer ces agents sur une sous-population résistant aux antibiotiques, les composés ainsi identifiés, ainsi que les utilisations de ceux-ci, et notamment le traitement d'infection bactériennes impliquant des bactéries dormantes.
