(EN)Methods for detection and/or removal of human parvovirus B19 and related polypeptides in biological samples such as blood or other solutions containing them are disclosed, together with reagents suitable for the purpose comprising binding moieties that recognize and form a binding complex with human parvovirus B19 and/or B19-like polypeptides such as capsid-forming B19 proteins VP1 and VP2. Preferred polypeptide binding moieties and methods for their use are particularly disclosed.
