Abstract
(EN) The invention relates to a particle separator and methods for separating the particles of a mixture. The apparatus of the invention employs two field elements to create a field in the space between the field elements. The surface contact of the particles of the mixture, inputted into the space between the field elements, triboelectrically charges the particles. Under the influence of the field, the charged particles substantially aggregate on one of two counter-rotating agitators, disposed operably in the space between the field elements, according to their respective polarities. The rotation of the agitators brings the charged particles into a substantially field-free space in the vicinity of the output ports. Some of the charged particles leave the agitators under the influence of external forces to enter one of the output ports based on their charge polarities.
(FR) La présente invention concerne un séparateur de particules et des procédés de séparation de particules dans un mélange. Cet appareil utilise deux éléments de champ pour créer un champ dans l'espace situé entre les éléments de champ. Le contact de surface des particules du mélange, introduit dans l'espace entre les éléments de champ, charge triboélectriquement ces particules. Sous l'influence du champ, les particules chargées s'agrègent sensiblement dans l'un de deux agitateurs à rotation antagoniste, placés fonctionnellement dans l'espace entre les éléments de champ, en fonction de leur polarités respectives. La rotation des agitateurs amène les particules chargées dans un espace pratiquement à champ nul, à proximité des ports de sortie. Certaines des particules chargées maintiennent les agitateurs sous l'influence de forces externes pour pénétrer l'un des ports d'entrées, en fonction de leurs polarités de charge.
