Even if there are a lot of defective areas on an information recording medium, continuous recording is stably carried out without being influenced by the defective areas. A file unit is defined as a first unit before recording information on the information recording medium. As a second unit, contiguous data area unit is defined to handle a continuous recording area. Information is recorded in units of a contiguous data area and a set of the units is configured as a file unit. On the information recording medium, the contiguous data area unit is set to secure an information recording place across an already recorded area of another file and a defective area of the information recording medium.

Cette invention permet de poursuivre de manière stable une opération d'enregistrement sur un support d'informations sans que cette opération soit influencée par les zones défectueuses du support, même si ces dernières sont nombreuses. A cet effet, une unité fichier est définie comme première unité avant l'enregistrement des informations sur le support d'informations. Comme seconde unité, on définit une unité zone de données contiguë (CDA) pour gérer une zone d'enregistrement continue. Les informations sont enregistrées dans les unités d'une zone de données contiguë et un groupe de ces unités est configuré sous la forme d'une unité fichier. On détermine l'unité zone de données contiguë sur le support d'informations, afin de sécuriser une position d'enregistrement d'informations sur la surface d'une zone déjà enregistrée d'un autre fichier et une zone défectueuse du support d'informations.
