Transillumination imaging instrumentation is improved by eliminating the detection of stray light beams (Fig. 4), and facilitating the detection of light beams which pass straight through an illuminated object (Fig. 10). Three-dimensional images can be constructed using either curved emitter, and detector arrays (Fig. 5); or by using emitter, and detector elements that rotate about a common axis (Fig. 6).

L'invention concerne des instruments d'imagerie par transillumination améliorés permettant à la fois de supprimer la détection de faisceaux de lumière parasite (fig. 4) et de faciliter la détection des faisceaux lumineux qui traversent un objet illuminé (fig. 10). Des images tridimensionnelles peuvent ainsi être construites au moyen d'un émetteur arrondi et d'un groupement de détecteurs (fig. 5), ou d'éléments émetteurs et détecteurs conçus pour pivoter autour d'un même axe (fig. 6).
