A helical antenna having a radiator portion (110) formed on a flexible substrate (112) and a rigid substrate (120) with a center feed element (118) electrically connected to the radiator portion (110). The flexible substrate (112) is supported by a support assembly with the radiator portion (110) spaced substantially equidistant from the center feed element (118). The support assembly includes a first non-conductive member (210) mounted to one surface of the rigid substrate (120) at a first location, a second non-conductive member (212) mounted to a second surface at the first location, a third non-conductive member (214) mounted to the one surface at a second location spaced from the first location, and a fourth non-conductive member (216) mounted to the second surface at the second location. A tool (700) for assembling the helical antenna is provided having a base member (710) with a plurality of elongated members (712a, 712b, 712c, 712d) mounted thereon substantially equidistant from each other and extending outwardly therefrom. A plurality of holes (714) formed in the elongated members (712) removably receive pins when in registration with holes (126, 128, 130) in the flexible substrate (112). A rotatable tuning cap (810) for fine tuning the antenna may be used having a plurality of tuning elements (812a, 812b, 812c, 812d) extending axially with the central antenna axis.

L'invention concerne une antenne hélicoïdale comportant une partie rayonnante (110) formée sur un substrat souple (112) et un substrat rigide (120) comportant un élément à alimentation centrale (118) connecté électriquement à la partie rayonnante (110). Le substrat souple (112) repose sur un ensemble support, la partie rayonnante (110) étant placée à une distance sensiblement égale de l'élément à alimentation centrale (118). L'ensemble support comprend un premier élément non conducteur (210) monté sur une surface du substrat rigide (120) à un premier emplacement, un deuxième élément non conducteur (212) monté sur une deuxième surface au premier emplacement, un troisième élément non conducteur (214) monté sur la première surface à un deuxième emplacement espacé du premier emplacement et un quatrième élément non conducteur (216) monté sur la deuxième surface au deuxième emplacement. Un outil (700) pour monter l'antenne hélicoïdale possède un élément de base (710) avec plusieurs éléments allongés (712a, 712b, 712c, 712d) montés sur ledit élément de base à une distance sensiblement égale de chacun desdits éléments et faisant saillie à l'extérieur. Plusieurs orifices (714) pratiqués dans les éléments allongés (712) reçoivent de manière amovible des broches lorsque celle-ci sont superposées aux trous (126, 128, 130) pratiqués dans le substrat souple. Un capuchon d'accord rotatif (810) destiné à l'accord fin de l'antenne comporte éventuellement plusieurs éléments d'accord (812a, 812b, 812c, 812d) placés sur l'axe central de l'antenne.
