Abstract

A vehicle door latch assembly including a latch operatively co-acting with a striker as the door nears its closed position, a latching pawl (16) self-engaging with the latch to hold it in a latched condition retaining the door, and unlatching means selectively operable to disengage the latching pawl for opening the door; the unlatching means comprising a pawl lifter (20) movable from a position of rest to carry the latching pawl out of engagement with the claw, a manually operable release member (25) operatively linked to a handle of the door for movement to engage and displace the pawl lifter from said position of rest, a power output member (24) movable also to engage and displace the pawl lifter from said position, an input member (30) power actuated between first and second positions, clutch means releasably drive connecting the input member to the output member to cause shifting of the latter as the input member moves to its second position, and an overriding element carrying the clutch means into and out of drive connection: characterised in that the overriding element is resiliently urged to its clutch disconnecting condition and in that the release member includes a formation coacting with the overriding element to displace it to its clutch connecting condition whereby, in use, power actuation of the input member can only take place by shifting of the release member (Fig. 4).

La présente invention concerne un ensemble de verrouillage de portière de véhicule comprenant un verrou fonctionnant en coopération avec un percuteur lorsque la portière arrive à proximité de sa position de fermeture, un cliquet de verrouillage (16) qui s'auto-engage avec le verrou et le maintient en état de verrouillage afin de retenir la portière, et un moyen de déverrouillage pouvant fonctionner sélectivement afin de désengager le cliquet de verrouillage en vue d'une ouverture de la portière. Le moyen de déverrouillage comprend un levier de cliquet (20) qui peut être déplacé d'une position de repos afin de désengager le cliquet de la griffe, un élément de libération (25) utilisable manuellement lié de manière opératoire à une poignée de porte afin d'engager et de déplacer le lève cliquet de ladite position de repos, un élément de sortie de puissance (24) déplaçable également afin d'engager et de déplacer le levier de cliquet de ladite position, un élément d'entrée (30) motorisé entre les première et seconde positions, un moyen de crochet qui relie par commande, de manière libérable, l'élément d'entrée et l'élément de sortie provoquant le déplacement de ce dernier lorsque l'élément d'entrée se déplace vers sa seconde position, et un élément de rattrapage qui entraîne le moyen de crochet à l'intérieur ou hors du raccordement de commande. Le système de l'invention est caractérisé en ce que l'élément de rattrapage est mis en appui de manière résiliente dans sa position non raccordante de crochet et en ce que l'élément de libération comprend une formation qui agit conjointement avec l'élément de rattrapage afin de le mettre dans sa condition de raccordement de crochet dans laquelle, lors de l'utilisation, un déplacement motorisé de l'élément d'entrée peut avoir lieu seulement en raison d'un déplacement de l'élément de libération (fig.4).
