Abstract

An image relay arrangement (20) for use with a curved CRT faceplate (11) to relay a picture to a position in front of the faceplate comprises a first, imaging, microlens array (22), a second, field, microlens array (23) and a third, re-imaging, microlens array (24) which are spaced from one another and have corresponding microlens elements (25, 26, 27). At least one of the first and third arrays is curved with its spacing from the adjacent array varying over its area related to the faceplate curvature. Through this arrangement, the picture at the curved faceplate can be imaged onto a plane where, for example, a lenticular screen is located enabling autostereoscopic displays to be produced.

Ce dispositif de relais d'image (20), utilisable avec une dalle de verre arciforme de TRC (11) pour relayer une image vers un emplacement sur le devant de la dalle, comporte un premier réseau de mini-lentilles (22) d'imagerie, un deuxième réseau de mini-lentilles (23) de champ et un troisième réseau de mini-lentilles (24) de ré-imagerie, ces trois réseaux étant séparés et possédant des éléments correspondants de mini-lentilles (25, 26, 27). L'un au moins des réseaux, en l'occurrence, le premier ou le troisième, est arciforme et l'espace le séparant du réseau adjacent varie sur la zone en rapport avec la courbure de la dalle. Il est possible, grâce à ce dispositif, d'imager l'image située sur la dalle de verre arciforme sur un plan où, par exemple, se trouve un écran lenticulaire, ce qui permet d'obtenir des affichages autostéréoscopiques.
