This invention pertains to cleaning compositions and methods for cleaning a first polymer composition from polymer processing apparatus. The cleaning compositions generally comprise a second polymer composition and at least one metal salt composition wherein the respective metal is selected from alkaline earth and transition metals. The second polymer composition has an affinity, for the first polymer, of 'Ad' between 50 and about 1500, where 'Ad' is adhesive strength, grams/15mm width, between the first and second polymer compositions in a multiple layer cast coextruded film. The cleaning composition comprises about .001 to about 10 weight percent metal salt composition based on total weight of the cleanin composition. A 50/50 weight percent mixture of the second polymer composition, and a third polymer composition which can be processed in polymer processing apparatus suitable for processing the first polymer composition, preferably has a melt index ratio MI-mix60/MI-mix6 of 0.3/1 to 5/1.

La présente invention concerne des compositions et des procédés de nettoyage pour le nettoyage d'une première composition de polymère provenant d'un appareil de traitement de polymère. Les compositions de nettoyage comprennent en général une deuxième composition de polymère et au moins une composition de sel métallique dans laquelle le métal respectif est choisi parmi les métaux alcalino-terreux et les métaux de transition. La deuxième composition de polymère présente une affinité, pour le premier polymère, d'un 'Ad' entre 50 et environ 100, 'Ad' désignant le pouvoir adhésif, grammes/15 mm en largeur, entre la première et la deuxième composition de polymère dans un complexe coextrudé coulé en multicouche. La composition de nettoyage comprend environ .001 à environ 10 % en poids de composition de sel métallique par rapport au poids total de la composition de nettoyage. Un mélange de 50/50 % en poids de la deuxième composition de polymère, et une troisième composition de polymère qui peut être traitée dans un appareil de traitement de la première composition de polymère, présente de préférence un rapport d'indice de fusion MI-mix60/MI-mix6 de 0.3/1 à 5/1.
