Abstract

A telemeter for telemetry of diagnostic messages from a mobile asset to a remote station comprises a processor coupled to the output of one or more condition sensors. The processor converts the output of the condition sensors to a diagnostic message, and provides the diagnostic message at a processor output. A transmitter is coupled to the processor output. The transmitter is adapted to transmit the diagnostic messages in the Industrial, Scientific, Medical (ISM) frequency band. An exemplary embodiment of a telemetry system of the invention comprises a telemeter adapted to transmit diagnostic messages in the ISM frequency band, and a remote station including a receiver for receiving the diagnostic messages in the ISM band.

Cette invention a trait à un télémètre aux fins de la télémétrie de messages diagnostiques émanant d'une entité mobile à destination d'une station à distance, lequel télémètre comporte un processeur raccordé à la sortie d'un ou de plusieurs détecteurs d'état. Le processeur transforme les données de sortie des détecteurs d'état en message diagnostique et fournit ce message à une sortie de processeur à laquelle est relié un émetteur. Ce dernier est conçu pour émettre les messages diagnostiques sur la bande de fréquence industrielle, scientifique et médicale (ISM). Dans un mode de réalisation représentatif de cette invention, le télémètre est conçu pour émettre des messages diagnostiques sur la bande de fréquence ISM et la station à distance comporte un récepteur apte à recevoir les messages diagnostiques sur cette fréquence.
