(EN)An X-ray tube includes a target whose end is provided with a hood electrode having an opening for passing electrons, and the opening is widened in the opposite direction of an X-ray window so that electrons from an electron gun may impinge on the target toward its end, resulting in a shorter distance from the X-ray window to the point where X-rays are released.
