(EN)In a cellular radio system down-link diversity is provided. The system has means in a base station (BS) for receiving signals from a mobile station (MS) using a diversity reception arrangement, in particular an antenna diversity arrangement (207, 209). Information regarding the current reception conditions is extracted from the reception diversity system and is used for improving the transmission. Thereby the transmitted signals can have less signal power, which in turn makes it possible to provide smaller cluster sizes and thereby increase the channel capacity in the cellular radio system.
(FR)L'invention concerne une diversité liaison descendante dans un système radio cellulaire. Le système a un moyen dans une station de base (BS) permettant de recevoir des signaux d'une station mobile (MS) utilisant un système de réception en diversité, notamment un système de réception en diversité d'antenne (207, 209). Des informations concernant les conditions de réception courantes sont extraites du système de réception en diversité et sont utilisées pour améliorer la transmission. Les signaux transmis peuvent avoir une puissance moindre, ce qui permet d'obtenir des groupes de cellules de taille plus petite et ainsi d'augmenter la capacité de canal du système radio cellulaire.
