Abstract
(EN) A method for modifying a molecular sieve catalyst to reduce methane production during conversion of oxygenates to olefins and a catalyst made by such a method. The molecular sieve catalyst comprises a separately synthesized framework comprising a material selected from the group consisting of silica, alumina, phosphate, and combinations thereof. The framework is contacted with a modifier, in the absence of a salt comprising a metal selected from the group consisting of manganese, zirconium, and hafnium, under conditions effective to modify the framework but insufficient to dealuminize or deironize the framework. The modifier comprises an oxygenated chelating agent comprising a parent compound which is readily removable from the framework by calcination to leave the modified molecular sieve catalyst. Also encompassed are the modified molecular sieve catalysts produced by the method, and a method of using the modified molecular sieve catalysts to reduce methane production during conversion of oxygenates to olefins.
(FR) Cette invention porte sur un procédé de modification d'un catalyseur à tamis moléculaire visant à réduire la production de méthane pendant la transformation de composés oxygénés en oléfines ainsi que sur un catalyseur réalisé selon ce procédé. Le catalyseur à tamis moléculaire comprend une structure synthétisée séparément renfermant un matériau pris dans le groupe composé de silice, d'alumine, de phosphate et de combinaisons de ces substances. La structure est mise en contact avec un modificateur, en l'absence d'un sel pris dans le groupe comprenant le manganèse, le zirconium et le hafnium, dans des conditions suffisante pour modifier cette structure, mais insuffisantes pour la désaluminier ou la déferriser. Le modificateur comprend un agent chélateur oxygéné renfermant un composé de même famille qui peut être retiré facilement par calcination et laisse le catalyseur modifié à tamis moléculaire. L'invention concerne également les catalyseurs modifiés à tamis moléculaire obtenus selon ce procédé ainsi qu'une technique d'utilisation desdits catalyseurs pour réduire la production de méthane pendant la transformation de composés oxygénés en oléfines.
