(EN)A method of reclaiming styrene from polystyrene-containing materials wherein a solution of polystyrene from such materials in a solvent is heated in distillation equipment to depolymerize the polystyrene and produce a styrene fraction and a heavier fraction, the styrene fraction being separated from the heavier fraction. Prior to heating, an inert gas is used to purge the distillation equipment of oxygen. The method preferably is carried out at the lowest temperature which will achieve the desired rate of depolymerization.
(FR)L'invention concerne un procédé de régénération du styrène de matières contenant du polystyrène dans lesquelles une solution de polystyrène tirée de ces matières dans un solvant est chauffée dans un matériel de distillation afin de dépolymériser le polystyrène et de produire une fraction de styrène et une fraction lourde, la fraction de styrène étant séparée de la fraction lourde. Avant le chauffage, on utilise un gaz inerte pour purger le matériel de distillation de l'oxygène. Le procédé est de préférence exécuté à la température la plus basse permettant d'obtenir la vitesse de dépolymérisation voulue.
