Abstract:
(EN) A method and apparatus for determining the range of an object. A first image of at least a portion of the object viewed from a first position is generated. A second image of the portion viewed from a second position spaced apart from the first position is generated by calculation from the first image and the distance between the first and second position. It is assumed that all of the portion represented by the first image lies on a radius less than the distance to the object. A third image of the portion viewed from the second position is generated and the range determined by comparison of the first and third images.
(FR) L'invention a trait à une méthode et à l'appareil correspondant permettant de déterminer la distance séparant un objet de son image. Il est produit une première image d'au moins une partie de l'objet vu d'un premier emplacement. Il est ensuite produit une deuxième image de la partie vue d'un second emplacement distinct du premier et ce, par un calcul réalisé à partir de la première image et tenant compte de la distance séparant le premier emplacement du second. On prend comme hypothèse que toute la partie représentée par la première image est sus-jacente à un rayon inférieur à la distance la séparant de l'objet. Il est alors produit une troisième image de la partie vue du second emplacement et la distance est déterminée à l'aide d'une comparaison de la première et de la troisième image.
