Abstract
(EN) The present invention relates to the ignition systems of internal combustion engines and may be used for increasing the starting reliability of engines and for ensuring their operation without misfiring. This method comprises maintaining a stable and optimal electric resistance between the electrodes of the sparking plugs. To this end, an additional electrical current from an independent source is applied to the electrodes of the sparking plugs before starting the engine and, if need be, during the engine operation or on a permanent basis during the whole engine exploitation. The voltage of this current is not sufficient for generating a spark, but its power is sufficient for burning through the electro-conductive layer of contaminants shunting the spark gap.
(FR) Cette invention se rapporte aux systèmes d'allumage de moteurs à combustion interne, et permet d'accroître la fiabilité de démarrage des moteurs et d'assurer leur fonctionnement sans ratés. Ce procédé consiste à maintenir de manière stable une résistance électrique optimale entre les électrodes des bougies. A cette fin, on applique sur les électrodes des bougies un courant électrique complémentaire et provenant d'une source indépendante, ceci avant le démarrage du moteur et, le cas échéant, pendant le fonctionnement ou de manière permanente pendant toute la durée d'exploitation dudit moteur. La tension de ce courant ne suffit pas à créer une étincelle, mais sa puissance est suffisante pour brûler la couche électro-conductrice de contaminants qui obstrue l'espace de l'étincelle.
