Abstract:
(EN) A system for inspecting the characteristics of cylinder walls (13) wherein the cylinder walls are heated and the infrared 'signature' emitted from the heated walls is captured and analyzed by a digital PC (22). The infrared detector is rotated within the cylinder walls (13) as it is actively capturing the infrared image data. By rotating the infrared detector (as opposed to keeping it stationary), noise artifacts which would otherwise be present are eliminated.
(FR) L'invention concerne un système d'inspection des parois (13) d'un cylindre, consistant à chauffer ces parois puis à capturer et analyser la 'signature' infrarouge émise par les parois chauffées au moyen d'un PC (22) numérique. On fait tourner le détecteur d'infrarouges à l'intérieur des parois (13) du cylindre tandis qu'il capture activement les données d'images infrarouges. La rotation du détecteur d'infrarouges permet d'éliminer les artefacts de bruit qui pourraient se produire s'il était maintenu dans une position fixe.
