Abstract
(EN) The invention concerns a composition based on samarium sesquisulphide, having a purity in samarium higher than 99 % relative to other rare earths and containing at least an alkaline or alkaline-earth element whereof a part at least is included in said sesquisulphide crystal lattice. In another embodiment, the composition is based on samarium sesquisulphide and at least one rare earth which is only trivalent and contains at least an alkaline or alkaline-earth element whereof a part at least is included in said sesquisulphide crystal lattice. In a third embodiment, the composition has a purity in samarium such that the cerium content is less than 1 %. The method consists in reacting samarium, trivalent rare earth and alkaline or alkaline-earth compounds with a gaseous mixture of hydrogen sulphide and carbon sulphide.
(FR) La présente invention concerne une composition à base d'un sesquisulfure de samarium, son procédé de préparation et son utilisation comme pigment colorant. La composition est à base d'un sesquisulfure de samarium, elle présente une pureté en samarium vis-à-vis d'autres terres rares supérieure à 99 % et elle contient au moins un élément alcalin ou alcalino-terreux dont une partie au moins est incluse dans le réseau cristallin dudit sesquisulfure. Selon un autre mode de réalisation, la composition est à base d'un sesquisulfure de samarium et d'au moins une terre rare qui est seulement trivalente et elle contient au moins un élément alcalin ou alcalino-terreux dont une partie au moins est incluse dans le réseau cristallin dudit sesquisulfure. Selon un troisième mode, la composition présente une pureté en samarium telle que la teneur en cérium soit inférieure à 1 %. Le procédé consiste à faire réagir des composés de samarium, de terre rare trivalente et d'alcalin ou d'alcalino-terreux avec un mélange gazeux de sulfure d'hydrogène et de sulfure de carbone.
