Abstract:
(EN) A multi-station video/audio distribution apparatus having at least two preview stations, a data control mechanism, a preview station interface mechanism disposed between the preview stations and the data control mechanism, and a video display interface mechanism disposed between the preview stations and the data control mechanism. Each of the preview stations has a user input in the form of a bar code scanner to enter a video material selection, an audio output and a video display. The data control mechanism retrieves digitized video and audio material corresponding to each of the user's video material selections. The preview station interface mechanism transfers the user's inputs from each of the preview stations to the data control mechanism, receives the digitized audio materials corresponding to each user's input from the data control mechanism, converts the digital audio materials to analog audio signals and transfers the analog audio signals to each of the respective preview stations for the audio output. The video display interface mechanism receives the digitized video material corresponding to each user's input from the data control mechanism, converts the digital video material to a format acceptable to the video display and transfers the formatted video material to the video display.
(FR) Cet appareil de distribution vidéo/audio multi-station comporte au moins deux stations de prévisualisation, un mécanisme de contrôle des données, un mécanisme d'interface de données placé entre les stations de prévisualisation et le mécanisme de contrôle des données et un mécanisme d'interface de présentation vidéo placé entre les stations de prévisualisation et le mécanisme de contrôle des données. Chaque station de prévisualisation comporte une entrée utilisateur, sous la forme d'un équipement de lecture de code barres servant à entrer une sélection de matériel vidéo, une sortie audio et une unité de présentation vidéo. Le mécanisme de contrôle de données extrait des matériels vidéo et audio numérisés correspondant à chacune des sélections de matériel vidéo utilisateur. Le mécanisme d'interface de station de prévisualisation transfère les entrées utilisateurs de chaque station de prévisualisation vers le mécanisme de contrôle des données, reçoit les matériels audio numérisés correspondant à chaque entrée utilisateur envoyés par le mécanisme de contrôle des données, convertit les matériels audio numérique en signaux audio analogiques et transfère ces signaux analogiques vers chaque station de prévisualisation respective pour la sortie audio. Le mécanisme d'interface de présentation vidéo reçoit le matériel vidéo numérisé correspondant à chaque entrée utilisateur envoyé par le mécanisme de contrôle des données, convertit le matériel vidéo numérique à un format admissible par l'unité de présentation vidéo et transfère le matériel vidéo formaté vers l'unité de présentation vidéo.
