Abstract:
(EN) An ultrafast laser providing short output pulses having a pulse length in the femtosecond range includes a resonant cavity including a plurality of folding mirrors (18, 20, 22, 29) for folding the resonant cavity to shorten its overall length. The fold-mirrors each include a plurality of layers deposited by ion-beam sputtering onto a substrate having a surface roughness of less than about 0.5 nanometers RMS. One or more of the folding mirrors may have a negative-group-velocity-dispersion mirror for allowing the laser to operate in a pulsed mode with pulses having a length of less than 500 femtoseconds.
(FR) Ce laser ultrarapide produisant des impulsions de sortie courtes à durée d'impulsion dans la gamme de la femtoseconde comporte une cavité résonnante comprenant plusieurs miroirs de renvoi (18, 20, 22, 29) servant à plier la cavité résonnante afin de raccourcir l'ensemble de sa longueur. Chaque miroir de renvoi comporte plusieurs couches déposées par pulvérisation au canon à ions sur un substrat dont la surface possède une rugosité de moins de 0,5 nanomètre environ en moyenne quadratique. L'un des miroirs de renvoi, sinon plusieurs, peut avoir une dispersion négative de la vitesse de groupe pour permettre au laser de fonctionner selon un mode pulsé avec des impulsions d'une durée inférieure à 500 femtosecondes.
