Abstract:
(EN) An archival medium, such as a compact disc, is made of a metal such as aluminum which is mechanically roughened and visibly imageable by selective exposure to infrared laser radiation. A mechanically roughened aluminum medium can also be anodically oxidized under conditions that do not impair the ability of the substrate to be laser imaged. The archival medium can be coated with opaque and transparent polymer coatings before or after imaging for security and/or protection. The coating can be a laser ablatable coating to provide a tamper-proof medium.
(FR) Cette invention se rapporte à un support d'archivage, du type disque compact, qui est constitué d'un métal tel que l'aluminium, dont la surface est rendue rugueuse par procédé mécanique et sur lequel il est possible d'enregistrer des images par exposition sélective à un rayonnement infrarouge. Un support en aluminium rendu mécaniquement rugueux peut également être soumis à une oxydation anodique dans des conditions telles que la capacité du substrat à être imprimé au laser n'est pas modifiée. Il est possible de recouvrir ce support d'archivage de revêtements polymères transparents aux U.V. et opaques au rayonnement visible, avant ou après l'enregistrement des images, à des fins de sécurité et/ou protection. Ledit revêtement peut être conçu pour subir une ablation par laser, ce qui permet de disposer d'un support inviolable.
