Abstract:
(EN) Provided are nucleic acids encoding wild-type and mutant EDS1 which may be used to modulate (either enhance or inhibit) a pathogen-resistance response in plants. Variants of the sequences are also provided as are methods of obtaining them, for instance using probes or primers. Also disclosed are wild-type, mutant and variant EDS1 proteins, which may be used ($i(inter alia)) as esterases. Vectors, host cells, plants employing heterologous EDS1 sequences, and various methods of use of these are also provided.
(FR) On décrit des acides nucléiques codant un gène EDS1 de type sauvage ou mutant (gène d'accentuation de la vulnérabilité aux maladies) pouvant être utilisé pour moduler (accentuer ou inhiber) une réaction de résistance aux pathogènes chez les plantes. On décrit également des allèles des séquences ainsi que des procédés permettant d'obtenir ces allèles au moyen de sondes ou d'amorces, par exemple. On décrit en outre des proteines de type sauvage, mutantes ou variantes du gène EDS1 qui peuvent être utilisées, $i(inter alia), comme estérases. On décrit enfin des vecteurs, des cellules hôtes, de plantes utilisant des séquences du gène hétérologue EDS1, et diverses méthodes d'utilisation de ces éléments.
