Title (EN) A GENERATOR COUPLER DEVICE AND METHOD
(FR) DISPOSITIF ET PROCEDE DE COUPLAGE DE GENERATEUR
Abstract:
(EN) A device for generating electrical power on a railcar includes an electrical generator (8) which converts rotational movement of a railcar axle (2) into electrical power. The generator (8) includes a support bracket (11) for mounting the generator (8) on the railcar in such a manner that the generator (8) is approximately coaxial with the railcar axle (2), and a coupling (10) provided between the generator (8) and the railcar axle (2) to transmit the rotational movement of the railcar axle (2) to the rotating shaft (9) of the generator (8) for generating electrical power.
