Abstract:
(DE) Zur Herstellung eines Lenkrades (1) mit einer nahtlosen, den Lenkradkranz, die Lenkradspeichen (2), und den zentralen Bereich für eine Airbag-Abdeckung (4) mit Aufreißlinien umfassenden Ummantelung aus einem im Gieß- oder Spritzverfahren einstückig hergestellten Kunststoffformteil (3) mit geschlossener Oberfläche und ggf. geschäumtem Basiskörper wird ein Verfahren vorgeschlagen, das dadurch gekennzeichnet ist, daß am zentralen Basisteil des Lenkradskeletts ein Kern (5) aus einem niedrig schmelzenden Material befestigt wird, das danach Lenkradskelett und Kern (5) in eine Form zur Ausbildung des Kunststoffformteils (3) eingelegt werden, daß der Kunststoffformteil (3) hergestellt und daß nach der Verfestigung des Kunststoffformteils (3) der Kern (5) durch Temperaturerhöhung aufgeschmolzen und das Material in flüssiger Form aus dem Kunststoffformteil (3) entfernt wird.
(EN) The invention relates to a method for producing a steering-wheel (1) with a seamless cover encompassing the steering-wheel rim, steering-wheel spokes (2) and the central area with tear lines for an airbag-covering (4). Said cover comprises a plastic shaped part (3) produced as a single piece by a casting or injection process, with a closed surface and optionally a foamed base element. The inventive method is characterised in that a core (5) consisting of a material with a low melting point is attached to the central base part of the steering-wheel skeleton. The steering-wheel skeleton and the core (5) are then placed in a mould to produce the plastic shaped part (3). The plastic shaped part (3) is formed. After said plastic shaped part (3) has hardened, the core (5) is melted by increasing the temperature and the material is removed from the plastic shaped part (3) in liquid form.
(FR) L'invention concerne un procédé pour munir un volant de direction d'un enrobage sans joint, englobant la couronne du volant, les rayons du volant et la zone centrale pour un recouvrement par un airbag présentant des lignes de déchirure, cet enrobage étant constitué par un ensemble en matière plastique moulé d'une seule pièce par un processus de moulage ou d'injection, avec surface fermée et, éventuellement, corps de base en mousse. Le procédé est caractérisé en ce qu'on fixe sur la base centrale du squelette du volant, un noyau en un matériau à faible point de fusion, en ce qu'on place ensuite ledit squelette et le noyau dans un moule pour la formation de la pièce moulée en matière plastique, en ce qu'on fabrique ladite pièce moulée et en ce qu'après solidification de celle-ci, le noyau est porté à fusion par élévation de température et le matériau est évacué, sous forme liquide, de la pièce moulée en matière plastique.
