Abstract:
(EN) A terminal block (8) for terminating one or more exchange wires (62) to one or more service wires (18) has a housing (10) including a plurality of separate chambers each of which are accessible to a service wire through a wire access port. The terminal block includes an access jack (130) including a service wire junction contact (138) provided within a service wire junction contact slot (132), an exchange wire junction contact (142) provided within an exchange wire junction contact slot (136) and an earth junction contact (140) retained within an earth junction contact slot (134). Exchange wires are terminated to respective exchange wire junction contacts in the terminal block and the corresponding stub cable (60) is permanently secured thereto. One or more service wires are terminated and conductively connected to a service wire junction contact. A linking module (200) is provided which, when inserted into the access jack, forms a conductive connection between the service wire junction contact and the exchange wire junction contact. The linking module further includes a protection device (230) which provides protection to the service side and exchange side. The linking module may be removed and replaced as needed. Removing the linking module from the access jack severs the conductive connection between the service wire junction contact and the exchange wire junction contact.
(FR) Bloc de jonction (8) permettant de connecter un ou plusieurs câbles (62) de central à une ou plusieurs lignes (18) de service, qui comporte un boîtier (10) comprenant une pluralité de chambres séparées, chacune des chambres étant accessibles à une ligne de service par un point d'accès de ligne. Ledit bloc de jonction comporte un jack d'accès (130) qui comprend un contact (138) de jonction de ligne de service placé dans une fente (132) de contact de jonction de ligne de service, un contact (142) de jonction de câble de central situé dans une fente (136) de contact de jonction de câble de central et un contact (140) de jonction à la terre retenu dans une fente (134) de contact de jonction à la terre. Les câbles de central sont connectés à des contacts de jonction de câble de central respectifs du bloc de jonction et le bout de câble (60) correspondant est fixé à demeure au contact. Une ou plusieurs lignes de service sont stoppées et connectées de manière conductrice à un contact de jonction de ligne de service. Un module de liaison (200) forme une connexion conductrice entre le contact de jonction de ligne de service et le contact de jonction de câble de central lorsqu'il est introduit dans le jack d'accès. Ledit module comporte en outre un dispositif de protection (230) qui fournit une protection du côté service et du côté central. Il peut être enlevé et remplacé selon les besoins. Le fait d'enlever le module de liaison du jack d'accès coupe la connexion conductrice entre le contact de jonction de ligne de service et le contact de jonction de câble de central.
