Abstract:
(EN) An optical disc data storage system includes an optical disc (54) for storing information in an optically readable format on a data surface. A slider (70) is positioned proximate the data surface of the optical disc (54). An actuator (72) coupled to the slider selectively positions the slider (70) relative to the data surface. An optical waveguide (50) having a radially graded index of refraction extends between a first end (76) positioned proximate a light source (78) and a second end (52) coupled to the slider (70) and positioned proximate the data surface. The optical waveguide (50) carries light (80) therebetween.
(FR) Ce système de mémorisation de données à disque optique comporte un disque optique (54) destiné au stockage d'information sous un format lisible optiquement sur une surface de données. Un curseur (70) est placé à proximité de la surface de données du disque optique (54). Un actionneur (72) couplé au curseur positionne de manière sélective le curseur (70) relativement à la surface de données. Un guide d'ondes optiques (50) possédant un indice de réfraction gradué radialement s'étend entre une première extrémité (76) placée à proximité d'une source lumineuse (78) et une seconde extrémité (52) couplée au curseur (70) et placée à proximité de la surface de données. Le guide d'ondes optiques (50) transporte la lumière entre ces extrémités.
