Abstract:
(EN) The present invention is directed to a heat shrink clad-core optical conduit (70) surrounded by multiple layers of jackets (76, 78, 82, 88) and a method of manufacturing the same. The jackets (76, 78, 82, 88) are formed with a thickness and index of refraction that is preferred for generating an aura effect. The aura effect appears when light transmitted through the core (72) appears to be traveling seamlessly through the entire core (72), cladding (74) and jackets (76, 78, 82, 88) and may even appear to illuminate the space surrounding the outermost jacket (88), thus producing an aura that makes the fiber optic conduit appear larger than it is. The preferred embodiment may include interlacing layers of materials that provide optical characteristics, such as dichroic and holographic films (84, 86), that are enhanced by the aura effect.
(FR) La présente invention concerne un conduit optique (70) à coeur sous gaine entouré de plusieurs couches d'enveloppes (76, 78, 82, 88) ainsi que son procédé de production. Les enveloppes (76, 78 82, 88) possèdent une épaisseur et un indice de réfraction préférés pour générer un effet d'aura. L'effet d'aura se manifeste lorsque la lumière transmise par le coeur (72) semble se déplacer sans coupure à travers le coeur (72), la gaine (74) et les enveloppes (76, 78, 82, 88) tout entiers et peut même sembler illuminer l'espace entourant la chemise la plus à l'extérieur (88), produisant ainsi une aura qui fait paraître le conduit à fibres optiques plus large qu'il ne l'est en réalité. Dans un mode de réalisation préféré, on peut entrelacer des couches de matières telles que des films dichroïques et holographiques (84, 86) possédant des caractéristiques optiques qui sont rehaussées par l'effet d'aura.
