Abstract:
(EN) A component has a substrate (1) made of a transparent material, for example glass. On this layer (1), there is a linear polarizer (2) on which there is a layer (3) of a photo-oriented polymer network (PPN)(=LPP) which is oriented in locally varying fashion via its surface which covers the substrate. The layer (3) is adjoined by an anisotropic layer (4) of cross-linked liquid-crystal monomers. This layer (4) then has a molecular arrangement whose orientation is defined by the underlying orientation layer (3). The layer (4) will have been photocross-linked by exposure to a suitable wavelength of light, with the result that the molecular orientation defined by the PPN layer (3) is fixed. The element, denoted as a whole by 7, can then be used as an optical component which is protected against forgery, it being possible for the orientation pattern of the liquid-crystal layer or the optical information stored therein to be made visible by means of an external polarizer (5), for example.
(FR) Cette invention se rapporte à un composant ayant un substrat (1) en matériau transparent, par exemple en verre. Sur ce substrat (1), on forme un polariseur rectiligne (2) sur lequel on dépose une couche (3) d'un réseau polymère photo-orienté (PPN)(=LPP) qui est orienté de façon localement variable par l'intermédiaire de sa surface qui couvre le substrat. Ladite couche (3) est contiguë à une couche anisotropique (4) de monomères de cristaux liquides réticulés. Cette couche (4) est pourvue ensuite d'un agencement moléculaire dont l'orientation est définie par la couche d'orientation sous-jacente (3). La couche (4) va alors être photoréticulée par exposition à un rayonnement lumineux de longueur d'onde appropriée, ce qui a pour résultat de fixer l'orientation moléculaire définie par la couche PPN (3). L'élément (7) peut ensuite être utilisé comme composant optique protégé contre la contrefaçon, avec la possibilité de rendre le motif d'orientation de la couche de cristaux liquides ou les informations optiques stockées sur cette couche visibles par un polariseur externe (5), notamment.
