Abstract:
(EN) A flowmeter (10) for measuring the velocity of a fluid employs a circuit for producing a magnetic field transverse to the direction of fluid velocity A, thereby inducing a voltage potential in the fluid. At least two electrodes (40), in electrical contact with the fluid and spaced apart along a line transverse to the direction of the fluid velocity, are responsive to the induced voltage potential. A signal processing circuit, that is responsive to the two electrodes, generates a velocity signal representative of the magnitude of the velocity of the fluid. A circuit periodically grounds the two electrodes (40), thereby eliminating any residual charge that builds up on the electrodes.
(FR) L'invention concerne un débitmètre (10) permettant de mesurer la vitesse d'un fluide. Ledit débitmètre utilise un circuit pour produire un champ magnétique transversal au sens de la vitesse du fluide, ce qui induit une tension dans le fluide. Deux électrodes (40) au moins, au contact électrique du fluide et espacées le long d'une ligne transversale au sens de la vitesse du fluide, sont sensibles à la tension induite. Un circuit de traitement du signal, réagissant aux deux électrodes, produit un signal de vitesse représentant l'ordre de grandeur de la vitesse du fluide. Un circuit met périodiquement à la terre les deux électrodes (40), éliminant ainsi toute charge résiduelle s'accumulant dans les électrodes.
