Abstract:
(EN) According to the present invention an uncoated titanium based carbonitride cutting tool insert with superior plastic deformation resistance and wear resistance is provided. This is accomplished by heat treating the material in nitrogen atmosphere under conditions to obtain a nitrogen rich surface zone, also containing substantial amounts of binder phase.
(FR) L'invention concerne une plaquette de coupe non enrobée en carbonitrure à base de titane, ayant une grande résistance à la déformation plastique et à l'usure. A cet effet, le matériau est soumis à un traitement thermique dans une atmosphère d'azote dans des conditions permettant d'obtenir une surface riche en azote et contenant par conséquent d'importantes quantités de phase liante.
