Abstract:
(EN) A process for polymer deformulation by solvent solution filtration begins by including formulated polymers and/or polymer products in a recycle stream. The formulated polymer products include a quantity of soluble polymers and/or insoluble polymers, soluble and/or insoluble colorants, formulations and additives. The recycle stream is placed in a solvent, taking the polymer and formulations into a solvent/polymer solution. Next, the solution is processed through a filtration stage. A quantity of mineral filter aid particles are then added to the solution to adsorb formulations contained in the solution. One of the mineral filter aids must be some form of carbon, preferably activated carbon. Other mineral filter aids may include diatomaceous earth. The solvent/polymer solution is then subjected to an additional polish filtration stage to remove substantially all of the mineral filter agents and associated formulations. Following filtration, a quality check is performed on the solvent/polymer solution to determine whether additional filtering of the solution is required. If additional filtering of the solution is required, the filtering process is repeated. If no additional filtering is required, the deformulated polymer is separated from the solution, and the deformulated polymer is allowed to dry.
(FR) L'invention concerne un procédé permettant de déformuler des polymères par filtration de solutions de solvants, lequel procédé consiste tout d'abord à introduire des polymères et/ou des produits polymères formulés dans un courant de recyclage. Les produits polymères formulés renferment une certaine quantité de polymères solubles et/ou insolubles, de colorants solubles et/ou insolubles, de formulations et d'adjuvants. Le courant de recyclage est placé dans un solvant, transformant le polymère et les formulations en une solution solvant/polymère. Ensuite, la solution subit une phase de filtration. Des particules d'adjuvants de filtration minéraux sont ensuite ajoutées en certaine quantité à la solution de manière à adsorber les formulations renfermées dans la solution. L'un des adjuvants de filtration minéraux doit être du charbon sous une forme quelconque, de préférence du charbon actif. Parmi les autres adjuvants de filtration minéraux peuvent figurer les terres de diatomées. La solution solvant/polymère subit ensuite une phase terminale de filtration de manière à éliminer sensiblement tous les agents de filtration minéraux et les formulations associées. Après la filtration, on soumet la solution solvant/polymère à un contrôle de qualité de façon à déterminer s'il est nécessaire de procéder à une filtration supplémentaire de la solution. Si tel est le cas, on répète le procédé de filtration. Si tel n'est pas le cas, on sépare le polymère déformulé de la solution, et on le laisse sécher.
