Abstract:
(EN) A fuel storage tank (3) is disclosed which is fitted with an overfill protection device for automatically shutting off flow of fuel into the tank when the fuel reaches an intended maximum fill level. The overfill protection device comprises a fill valve (4) located in a fuel fill tube (5) and linked to a diaphragm or piston (6) which is displaceable within a chamber (7), said chamber communicating with an aperture which is arranged to vent the chamber into the tank. The device may include a float valve (10) for controlling the aperture and maintaining the aperture closed until fuel in the tank reaches a predetermined fill level, whereupon the aperture is opened and the piston or diaphragm is displaced to cause closure of the valve.
(FR) L'invention concerne un réservoir de combustible (3) muni d'un dispositif de protection contre le trop-plein permettant la coupure automatique de l'écoulement de combustible lorsque le carburant atteint un niveau de remplissage maximum prévu. Ce dispositif de protection contre le trop-plein comporte un robinet de remplissage (4) situé dans un tuyau de remplissage en combustible (5) et relié à un diaphragme ou à un piston (6) qui peut se déplacer à l'intérieur d'une chambre (7) communiquant avec un orifice conçu pour évacuer le contenu de la chambre dans le réservoir. Ce dispositif peut comporter un régleur à flotteur (10) destiné à commander ledit orifice et le maintien de sa fermeture jusqu'à ce que le combustible du réservoir atteigne un niveau de remplissage prédéterminé, après quoi, l'orifice s'ouvre et le piston ou le diaphragme se déplace en vue d'entraîner la fermeture du régleur.
