Abstract:
(EN) A pressure swing adsorption system has a plurality of primary adsorbent beds and at least one secondary adsorbent bed. The feed gas stream flows to a primary adsorbent bed loaded with an adsorbent that will preferentially adsorb certain components in the feed gas. Non-preferentially adsorbed components flow from the adsorbent bed during this time. Upon saturation of the adsorbent with the adsorbed components, the flow of feed gas is ceased. The adsorbent is fully loaded with the preferentially adsorbed component and there is feed gas in the void space between the adsorbent particles. This primary adsorbent bed undergoes regeneration by partial depressurization through the secondary adsorbent bed followed by a complete depressurization to a final lower pressure. There can be two or more primary adsorbent beds and there will be at least one secondary adsorbent bed. The preferred separation is the separation of carbon dioxide from a hydrocarbon containing stream.
(FR) Cette invention se rapporte à un système d'adsorption modulée en pression comportant une pluralité de lits adsorbants primaires et au moins un lit adsorbant secondaire. Le courant de gaz d'alimentation s'écoule vers un lit primaire adsorbant chargé d'un adsorbant qui adsorbe de préférence certains composants du gaz d'alimentation. Pendant ce temps, les composants qui ne sont pas adsorbés de manière préférentielle s'écoulent, eux, du lit adsorbant. Lorsque l'adsorbant est saturé par les composés adsorbés, on interrompt l'écoulement de gaz d'alimentation. L'adsorbant est complètement chargé du composé adsorbé préférentiellement et l'espace vide entre les particules adsorbantes est rempli de gaz d'alimentation. Le lit d'adsorbant primaire subit une régénération par dépressurisation partielle à travers le second lit adsorbant, puis par une dépressurisation totale jusqu'à une pression finale inférieure. On peut mettre en oeuvre plus de deux lits adsorbants primaires et au moins un lit adsorbant secondaire. La séparation préférée effectuée avec un tel système est la séparation de dioxyde de carbone d'un courant contenant des hydrocarbures.
