Abstract:
(EN) A fast, position-tolerant and economical fingerprint verification algorithm and software implementation is described. The algorithm has very important advantages in comparison to existing fingerprint verification algorithms like minutia extraction of full image analysis based on a series of two-dimensional fast Fourier transforms (FFT's) and two-dimensional cross correlation in speed, compactness of the biocript and finger positioning for verification. It is based on a small 'yardstick' pattern being moved inside the image to be verified, and when a match is found the rest of the verification process is started. The yardstick is divided into segments in order to fit different DSP and microcontroller register lengths and structures.
(FR) L'invention concerne la mise en application d'un algorithme et d'un logiciel de vérification d'empreintes digitales rapides, tolérant les positions et économiques. L'algorithme présente des avantages très importants, en comparaison des algorithmes de vérification d'empreintes digitales existants tels que l'analyse par extraction de petits détails ou d'une image pleine, sur la base d'une série de transformées de Fourier rapides (FFT) bi-dimensionnelles et d'une corrélation croisée bi-dimensionnelle, en vitesse, compacité du biocrypte et positionnement des doigts pour vérification. Il est basé sur un petit motif de 'critère' déplacé à l'intérieur de l'image à vérifier, et lorsqu'une correspondance est trouvée le reste du processus de vérification est entamé. Le critère est divisé en segments afin de s'adapter à différentes longueurs et structures de registres de processeurs de signaux numériques et de microcontrolleurs.
