Title (EN) GROOVED BRAKE SHOE
(FR) PATIN DE FREIN A GORGES
Abstract:
(EN) The present invention pertains to brake shoes having a grooved lining surface. The purpose of providing brake shoes with grooves is to improve their braking performance by modifying the contact surface of the brake shoe lining and its braking media. A braking performance testing on grooved brake shoe and ungrooved brake shoe has been conducted to prove the desired braking performance improvement. It shows that the grooved brake shoe performs better than the ungrooved shoe. The design and size as well as distance of grooves may vary in accordance with the size of brake shoes, especially their arc radius.
