Abstract:
(EN) This invention relates to an apparatus for controlling the motion of a string of tubulars in a wellbore. In milling a tubular with a downhole mill, using too much weight on the mill and/or advancing the mill too quickly can result in inadequate milling, inefficient milling, and damage to the mill, its associated equipment, and the item to be milled. In offshore milling operations, a mill lifted away from a tubular being milled, e.g. by a swell at the water's surface that lifts a boat or barge from which the milling system is suspended, can be slammed back into the tubular being milled as the swell passes and the boat is effectively lowered. This is particularly undesirable.
(FR) Cette invention concerne un dispositif permettant de réguler le déplacement d'un train de tiges tubulaires dans un puits de forage. Au cours du fraisage d'une tige tubulaire par une fraise de fond, le fait de surcharger la fraise et/ou de la faire avancer trop rapidement peut entraîner un fraisage incorrect, inefficace, et risque d'endommager la fraise, le matériel qui y est associé ainsi que l'élément à fraiser. Lors d'opérations de fraisage en mer, une fraise tirée vers le haut et donc écartée d'une tige tubulaire qu'elle est en train de fraiser, par exemple, à cause d'un renflement à la surface de l'eau qui soulève un bateau ou une barge auquel un système de fraisage est suspendu, peut revenir brutalement dans la tige tubulaire en cours de fraisage au moment où le renflement cesse, donc au moment où le bateau redescend. Ceci est particulièrement gênant.
