Abstract:
(EN) Polyester yarns whose polyester fibers are of simple oval peripheral cross section of aspect ratio at least about 1.85:1 have shown better dye yield in fabrics than polyester staple fibers having lower aspect ratios. Such superior cross sections for polyester staple fibers have also provided advantages in open-end spinning in providing yarns with fewer spinning failures than fibers of conventional round cross section.
(FR) Les fils de polyester dont les fibres ont une section transversale ovale, simple, d'un rapport d'aspect d'au moins environ 1,85:1, se sont avérés avoir un meilleur rendement du colorant dans les tissus que les fibres de polyester discontinues qui ont des rapports d'aspect inférieurs. Les sections transversales supérieures des fibres de polyester discontinues présentent également des avantages dans la filature des fibres libres où les fils produits comportent bien moins de défauts de filage que les fibres traditionnelles de section transversale ronde.
