(EN)A process for producing an aqueous coating composition comprising an aqueous dispersion of internally cross-linked polymer microgel particles in which the microgel particles are produced by emulsion polymerisation of ethylenically unsaturated monomers including carboxyl functional monomer in an aqueous medium so as to form an aqueous dispersion of carboxyl functional addition polymer followed by reacting this polymer dispersion with a diepoxide resin having an epoxide equivalent weight between 100 and 5000 to form the cross-linked polymer microgel particles.
(FR)Ce procédé de production d'une composition de revêtement aqueuse comprenant une dispersion aqueuse de particules de microgel polymère réticulé consiste à préparer ces particules par une polymérisation en émulsion de monomères oléfiniques contenant un monomère fonctionnel carboxylique placé dans un milieu aqueux, de façon à former une dispersion aqueuse de polymère d'addition fonctionnel carboxylique, puis à faire réagir cette dispersion polymère avec une résine diépoxydique possédant un poids équivalent d'époxyde compris entre 100 et 5000, afin de former lesdites particules de microgel polymère réticulé.
