Abstract:
(EN) The invention is of a family of bioabsorbable intermedullary rods (10), implantation systems and associated methodologies for implantation. Applicant's invention permits its users to use intermedullary rods (10) when indicated for fracture fixation, yet avoid complications of presently available steel rods, including the post-utility presence of implants after a bone has healed.
(FR) L'invention concerne une famille de tiges intermédullaires bioabsorbables (10), de systèmes d'implantation et de méthodologies d'implantation associées. Le système selon l'invention permet à ses utilisateurs d'utiliser des tiges intermédullaires (10) lorsque cela convient pour l'immobilisation d'un os fracturé, tout en évitant les complications connues avec les tiges d'acier actuellement disponibles, y compris la présence, après leur période d'utilité, d'implants après la consolidation de l'os.
