Abstract:
(EN) A lowly electrifiable composite polyester film comprising a base film (C), a coat (A) formed on one surface of the film (C) and a coat (B) formed on the other surface thereof, characterized in that: 1) the coat (A) is one which is made from a water-soluble or -dispersible resin containing an inert particulate material and whose surface has a center line average roughness (Ra-A) of 0.1 to 2 nm, 2) the coat (B) is one made from 1 to 40 wt.% of an inert particulate material and a composition comprising a water-soluble or -dispersible resin, provided the composition contains 5 to 85 wt.% of a silicone-modified polyester resin or 1 to 30 wt.% of a silicone or a wax, each percentage being based on the coat (B), and 3) the film (C) is one made of an aromatic polyester. The composite film is lowered in electrifiability and excellent not only in resistances to blocking and chipping but also in electromagnetic transduction characteristics and adhesion to back coating, thus being useful as a base film of an electromagnetic recording medium.
(FR) Couche de polyester composite faiblement électrisable, comprenant une couche de base (C), un revêtement (A) formé sur une surface de ladite couche (C) et un revêtement (B) formé sur l'autre surface de ladite couche, qui est caractérisée par les faits suivants: (1) le revêtement (A) est constitué d'une résine soluble ou dispersible dans l'eau, qui contient un matériau particulaire inerte et dont la surface a une rugosité moyenne au niveau de la ligne médiane (Ra-A) comprise entre 0,1 et 2 nm; (2) le revêtement (B) est constitué de 1 à 40 % en poids d'un matériau particulaire inerte et d'une composition renfermant une résine soluble ou dispersible dans l'eau, qui contient 5 à 85 % en poids d'une résine polyester modifiée par du silicone ou bien 1 à 30 % en poids de silicone ou de cire, chaque pourcentage étant basé sur le revêtement (B); et (3) la couche (C) est constituée d'un polyester aromatique. La couche composite, qui est faiblement électrisable, présente d'excellentes propriétés de résistance au blocage et à l'écaillage, ainsi que de transduction électromagnétique et d'adhésion au revêtement support, ce qui la rend utile comme couche de base pour support d'enregistrement électromagnétique.
