Abstract:
(EN) A regimen for calcium supplementation takes advantage of the discovery that a calcium supplement containing modified whey characterized by a calcium content of at least 3 %, protein content of from 10 to 20 %, and a phospholipid content of at least 2 %, is of high biological value. It can be accomplished with calcium-supplemented foods that administer foods containing sufficient amounts of the modified whey to provide at least 5 % of the amount of calcium required for complete nutrition on a daily basis. The regimen can benefit humans and domestic pets, in particular. More preferred levels of administration will provide at least 10 % and in some cases at least 25 % of the RDA for calcium for the subject.
(FR) La présente invention concerne un régime de supplémentation en calcium basé sur la découverte qu'un supplément en calcium contenant du lactosérum modifié caractérisé par une teneur en calcium d'au moins 3 %, une teneur en protéines de 10 à 20 % et une teneur en phospholipides d'au moins 2 %, possède une valeur biologique élevée. Le régime de la présente invention comprend des aliments enrichis en calcium contenant des quantités suffisantes de lactosérum modifié pour assurer au moins 5 % de la quantité de calcium journalière nécessaire à une alimentation équilibrée. Ce régime est bénéfique pour les êtres humains et pour les animaux de compagnie, en particulier. Des niveaux d'administration préférés fournissent au moins 10 % voire, dans certains cas, au moins 25 % de la ration alimentaire recommandée en calcium d'un sujet.
