(EN) A motor control circuit (100) for controlling a motor (106) in a disc drive is provided. The motor control circuit (100) includes a commutation circuit (102) which provides commutation signals to the motor (106) to commutate the motor (106) at a commutation frequency. A frequency modulation circuit (181) is operably coupled to the commutation circuit (102). The frequency modulation circuit (181) provides a modulation signal which frequency modulates the commutation frequency according to a predetermined pattern.
