Abstract:
(EN) An apparatus (20) and method are provided for mixing gas and liquid. An impeller (30) is rotatably mounted inside a draft tube (22). Inlet baffles (34) are mounted adjacent the inlet end (23) of the draft tube (22) in close proximity to the impeller (30). In addition, outlet baffles (36) are mounted adjacent the outlet end (24) of the draft tube (22) in close proximity to the impeller (30). Rotation of the impeller (30) draws liquid down through the draft tube (22) and creates vortices which serve to entrain gas into the liquid. The provision of inlet and outlet baffles (34, 36) directly adjacent the rotating impeller (30) produces high gas entrainment and shear rates and improves gas transfer efficiency. The gas-liquid vortex mixer (20) is particularly suitable for treating industrial and municipal wastewater, as well as various other liquids. Gases such as air, oxygen, hydrogen, and the like are efficiently dissolved in such liquids during operation of the gas-liquid vortex mixer (20).
(FR) Dispositif (20) et procédé servant à mélanger du gaz et du liquide. Une hélice (30) est montée rotative à l'intérieur d'un tube d'aspiration (22). Des chicanes d'entrée (34) sont montées contiguës à l'extrémité d'entrée (23) du tube d'aspiration (22) à proximité immédiate de l'hélice (30). De plus, des chicanes de sortie (36) sont montées contiguës à l'extrémité de sortie (24) du tube d'aspiration (22) à proximité immédiate de l'hélice (30). La rotation de l'hélice (30) aspire du liquide vers le bas à travers le tube d'aspiration (22) et crée des tourbillons servant à entraîner le gaz vers l'intérieur du liquide. La présence de chicanes d'entrée et de sortie (34, 36) directement contiguës à l'hélice (30) en rotation produit des vitesses élevées d'entraînement de gaz et de cisaillement et améliore l'efficacité du transfert du gaz. Ce mélangeur tourbillonnaire (20) de gaz et de liquide est particulièrement approprié pour traiter des effluents liquides industriels et urbains, ainsi que différents autres types de liquides. Des gaz, tels que l'air, l'oxygène ou l'hydrogène, sont dissous de façon efficace dans ces liquides pendant la mise en service du mélangeur (20).
